FAQs

What is mental health?

Mental health refers to a person's overall psychological well-being. It encompasses emotional, social, and psychological aspects of an individual's life.

What kind of mental health services do you offer?

We offer a wide range of services, including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and medication management.

What types of mental health conditions do you treat?

We treat a broad range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and more. Services are provided for both adults and children.

How long are sessions?

Intake appointments last from 60-90 minutes. Medication management sessions range from 20-30 minutes. Psychotherapy sessions will last 45-60 minutes.

How often do I need to attend psychiatric sessions?

The frequency of sessions varies depending on your individual needs and treatment plan. Some clients may need to attend sessions weekly, while others may come every other week or on a monthly basis.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance currently. We are a private-pay model. We believe that insurance-driven medicine creates an environment that does not support ethical or competent psychiatric care. We pride ourselves on providing patient and family-centered care that prioritizes the client over profits. Rates are listed under "Services."

How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment, you can call the office during business hours. The office phone number is 518-704-3866. A pre-screening evaluation will be completed over the phone and you will then be provided an invitation to complete required intake paperwork. All intake paperwork must be completed BEFORE your initial appointment is scheduled. If you are having troubles completing the intake paperwork, please call the office back for assistance.

What should I expect during my first session?

During your first session, you will be asked questions about your mental health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. It's important to be honest and open during your session to ensure you get the most out of your experience.

How can I prepare for my first session?

It may be helpful to write down any questions or concerns you have before your session. You should also bring any relevant medical records or past therapy notes, if applicable.

We hope these answers have been helpful to you. Remember, taking care of your mental health is important, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Please reach out to the practice if you have any questions or concerns.
